BetterBetting Continues development on the first version of the BETR platform

Better Betting announce details of their Early-2018 technology update, ahead of the 2018 World Cup.

Tallinn, Estonia - March 13, 2018 /MarketersMedia/ —

Better Betting is pleased to announce that nearly all the new roles in its Estonian development office have now been filled and new team members are rapidly coming up to strength. The team includes data specialists, UX and designers, client side coders, QA and of course the all-important blockchain developers.

“With the FIFA World Cup looming squarely on the horizon we have beefed up development capacity in order to be ready with the first version of the BETR decentralized peer-to-peer and peer-to-sportsbook betting cryptocurrency based distributed betting system and the first reference clients by mid-May 2018” said Ian Sherrington – CTO.

The Beautiful Game

More detail on the underlying architecture and functionality that will be released for the World Cup will be made available in coming updates, but at this stage the company can confirm that it will cover Football only, with further sports to be released over a rolling release schedule post the World Cup.

Football league coverage will be limited to the World Cup in the first release but soon after will include major leagues in time for the 2018/19 season including the English Premier League, Spanish Primera Liga, Italian Serie A, French Ligue 1, Germany Bundesliga and the UEFA Champions League. Further leagues will be rolled out as momentum grows.

Market depth is expected to start strong with at least 50 markets including the all important match-winner, totals and Asian handicap markets. With strong support in Asia it is expected that the network will offer significant liquidity on main markets presenting punters who may be restricted or have simply outgrown their local sportsbooks the opportunity to take advantage of the Better Betting Liquidity Pool.

“I think this last point is particularly interesting – we are already seeing strong interest from professional sports bettors who are keen to be able to bet in a robust and secure way with higher volumes than are possible through existing sportsbooks” said Adriaan Brink – CEO.

All bets will be placed and settled using the BETR token which was released in an initial token offering at the end of January 2018 at a starting price of 10c per token and is currently trading and available for purchase on major exchanges such as HitBTC, Bancor, IDEX, Etherdelta, Bisq and Waves.

At State Department, Heather Nauert's star is ascendant

Mar 19, 2018

WASHINGTON — When the ax fell on Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, his spokeswoman was half a world away, a distance he and his inner circle preferred and enforced. Now, it's Tillerson who's on his way out after his unceremonious firing by President Donald Trump, and Heather Nauert whose star is ascendant. U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley and Nauert are among the few women in the Trump administration with high-profile voices on foreign policy. Only three State Department officials — all men — now outrank Nauert, a former Fox News anchor who declined comment for this story. Nauert's meteoric rise comes...

Mar 19, 2018

NEW YORK — The music comedy group Flight of the Conchords has postponed a series of tour dates after Bret McKenzie injured his hand in what he called a "very rock 'n' roll injury — falling down some stairs." In a statement posted on the band's website on Sunday, McKenzie said the upcoming United Kingdom tour of the Flight of the Conchords would be rescheduled after he broke two bones in his hand. McKenzie says he will be prevented from performing for several weeks. The group's 13 U.K. performances were to begin on Sunday in London. McKenzie and Jemaine Clement...

Mar 19, 2018

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates — A British art teacher won a highly-competitive $1 million teaching prize on Sunday for her work with inner-city children in London, helping students feel welcome and safe in a borough with one of the highest murder rates in the country. Andria Zafirakou, 39, beat out some 30,000 applicants from around the world to win the Global Teacher Prize, which honors one exceptional teacher a year who's made a significant contribution to the profession. The Alperton Community School teacher was awarded for her work in the London borough of Brent, one of the most ethnically diverse...

Leonard Bernstein, social activist, is focus of new exhibit

Mar 19, 2018

PHILADELPHIA — In October 1979, Leonard Bernstein received a fan letter from a high school humanities teacher. Helen Morgan wrote to the celebrity composer-conductor-pianist in hopes he could share the theme that guided his compositions — something she could pass along to her students for inspiration. "There are far more than one 'central theme' within my body of works," Bernstein wrote in reply. "But if I had to choose one, perhaps the most significant, it would be our search for a solution to the 20th century crisis of faith." Bernstein's lifelong effort to find that solution through music is on...

Bark Bracket: Retrievers become top dogs, boosted by UMBC

Mar 19, 2018

They're now at the top of the Bark Bracket. Very good dog, you Retrievers! In a sport full of Bulldogs, Huskies and Terriers, a new breed is suddenly ruling the NCAA basketball tournament — and beyond. All thanks to those underdogs at UMBC. "How 'bout those Retrievers?" dog expert David Frei raved. "This is their moment." 'Bout time, too. Always in the doghouse at America's most prestigious pooch pageant, no retriever has ever won best in show at the Westminster Kennel Club, a competition that began in 1877. Not a single Chesapeake Bay retriever, the state dog of Maryland and...
