Iris Senior Living Announces Acquisition of Dallas Memory Care in Turtle Creek

Private-pay memory care community in Turtle Creek gets new ownership and new management with substantial upgrades to come.

Turtle Creek, Dallas - July 6, 2019 /MarketersMedia/ —

Iris Senior Living is proud to announce that it has just acquired a Dallas memory care community in Turtle Creek, which is now rebranded as Iris Memory Care of Turtle Creek. The intent is to renovate and reposition the community and become the preferred, specialized memory care provider serving all of Dallas, including Uptown, Downtown, Park Cities, North Dallas, Northeast Dallas, East Dallas, Lakewood, Northwest Dallas, and Preston Hollow.

"Memory Care is best done in an intimate, residential environment, contained within one or more single-story structures. It's very rare to come across a single-story building built specifically for seniors in a high-density, urban location such as Turtle Creek. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to expand our brand into an urban market with a legacy project, and offer a memory-care specialized, residential alternative to the large-scale retirement communities which have a memory care "wing" (often on the 2nd or 3rd floor)." Says the owners of Iris Senior Living.

The Iris model is to provide senior housing services in an intimate setting which offers quality care to its residents that are living with Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia in a residential-like environment where each resident can maximize their health, happiness, and freedom of movement. Memory care provides intensive, long-term care to seniors with Alzheimer's & other types of dementia in a fully staffed and secure environment. Specialized care requires a higher staff to resident ratio and additional training compared to other types of senior living communities to ensure the safety of all the residents.

The business plan is to reposition the community as the preferred, specialized memory care provider by completing a cosmetic renovation bringing the property up-to-date with current design trends and technology. The renovation is anticipated to take six months and will be completed in a strategic manner to minimize operational disturbances and to ensure the comfort of the current residents.

ABOUT IRIS SENIOR LIVING

Iris Memory Care Community is a residential alternative to traditional assisted living. Unlike other Memory Care communities which are normally a "wing" in a much larger community, Iris Memory Care offers specialized Alzheimer's and dementia care in a residential setting. Advanced research has shown that those living with Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia thrive in a small, intimate environment, therefore our home-like model lends itself to maintaining each resident's health, happiness, and freedom of movement.

Your body's sexy and you deserve to feel that way," she added. That mission will be showcased Friday as Amazon Prime streams her New York Fashion Week show for Savage X Fenty in more than 200 countries and territories. The...

Football carries television networks until start of season

Sep 19, 2019

NEW YORK — The new television season hasn't begun yet, but the football season has, and it's carrying the networks in the interim. The Nielsen company says four NFL games finished among its top 12 prime time shows last week, led by the Sunday night matchup between Philadelphia and Atlanta. ABC reached nearly 13 million viewers when it devoted its entire prime time schedule to the third Democratic presidential debate last Thursday. NBC won the network ratings race for the week with football and "America's Got Talent."

Jack Hughes scored twice in his NHL preseason debut, including the winner 40 seconds into overtime to lift a New Jersey Devils split squad to a 4-3 win over the Boston Bruins on Monday night in Newark, New Jersey. Hughes, the first overall pick in June's NHL draft, and P.K. Subban, acquired in a trade with Nashville, each played his first game for the Devils. Connor Carrick and Jesper Bratt also scored for New Jersey. Cory Schneider started in goal for New Jersey and made 17 saves on 18 shots before being replaced by Gilles Senn, who was credited with...

Beckham puts on show in MetLife return, Browns top Jets 23-3

Sep 19, 2019

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — Odell Beckham Jr. had an 89-yard touchdown catch and a spectacular one-handed grab in his return to MetLife Stadium, and Baker Mayfield and the Cleveland Browns did just enough to beat the short-handed and banged-up New York Jets 23-3 on Monday night. Beckham, traded from the Giants in March, helped the Browns (1-1) bounce back from a 30-point loss to Tennessee in their opener to top the Jets (0-2). New York lost quarterback Trevor Siemian to an ankle injury in the second quarter, and Luke Falk — promoted from the practice squad earlier in the day...

Morgan Spurlock takes a second bite of the fast food world

Sep 19, 2019

NEW YORK — Last time out, documentary filmmaker Morgan Spurlock ate only fast food for a month. This time, he's the one dishing out the fried stuff. Spurlock has gone from being an avid Big Mac consumer in "Super Size Me" to serving his own chicken sandwiches in "Super Size Me 2: Holy Chicken!" — a sober look at an industry that processes 9 billion animals a year in America. "I think the intention is to kind of give you a different perspective of the fast-food world — the fast-food commodity world — from a much more corporate point of...
