August 13, 2019 - /PressAdvantage/ - Westchester Subaru, a car dealer based in White Plains, New York, has announced that they will be launching the 2020 Subaru Legacy this fall and are now taking pre-orders for the new car. The 2020 Subaru Legacy features a complete redesign of the previous model inside and out. It boasts of a fuel economy of 35 miles per gallon and several technology upgrades, including the all new intuitive big screen interface. It retains the award-winning safety of standard Subaru EyeSight® Driver Assist Technology while adding the newly available DriverFocus™ Distraction Mitigation System.

“We are happy to announced that we are scheduled to launch the 2020 Subaru Legacy this fall and we are now accepting pre-orders,” says Nolan Corlew, general sales manager of Westchester Subaru. He adds, “And you can count on a Legacy to be long-lasting and dependable, with 96% of Legacy vehicles sold in the last 10 years still on the road today. It retains the Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive of the 2019 model, including the EyeSight® Driver Assist Technology, and adds the new DriverFocus™ Distraction Mitigation System.”

The EyeSight® Driver Assist Technology monitors traffic movement, optimizes cruise control, and warns the driver if the car is swaying outside its lane. More than one million vehicles with EyeSight have been sold and EyeSight has been observed to decrease the rate of rear-end crashes with injuries by as much as 85 percent. It is capable of applying full braking force and bring the car to a stop during emergency situations with Pre-Collision Braking. The 2020 Subaru Legacy also features the all new Advanced Adaptive Cruise Control with Lane Centering, helping the driver with steering, braking and throttle control, both on long road trips and in daily traffic.

Meanwhile, the new DriverFocus™ Distraction Mitigation System is Subaru’s latest safety system. It is designed to address one the most pressing challenges for auto safety, which is distracted driving. It is a driver monitoring system that utilizes infrared sensors and facial recognition software to determine if there are any signs of driver fatigue or driver distraction.

DriverFocus™ works in conjunction with the EyeSight® Driver Assist Technology to decrease the chances of an accident. If the driver looks away from the road for three seconds, the system beeps to warn the driver. If the driver ignores the warnings, the car will slow down to a stop, and if the driver continues to be non-responsive, the system will use the Starlink™ system to contact a live operator to try to speak to the driver. For additional convenience, DriverFocus™ can recognize up to five different drivers and remember their preferences, including climate settings, seat position, and outside mirror position.

For added security, the 2020 Subaru Legacy is also provided with Starlink™ Safety and Security, which features an array of connected services, such as the Advanced Automatic Collision Notification that alerts an operator in the event of an accident, and the SOS Emergency Assistance, which allows the driver to get roadside assistance at the push of a button. In addition, Starlink™ has convenience features, such as the Remote Engine Start with Climate Control, which is accessible through a smartphone, and the Starlink Concierge services.

Meanwhile, Westchester Subaru also offers Subaru Legacy lease deals. Available for lease are the new 2019 Subaru Legacy cars. The lease deals are for 36 months plus the possibility of purchasing the car. Streep, Miranda and Stone are named as Met Gala co-0chairs

Dec 15, 2019

NEW YORK — Next year's Met Gala may be the closest we'll ever come to getting a Miranda Priestly moment at the starry event. Meryl Streep has been named as a co-chair of the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute. The Oscar-winner played Priestly, a thinly veiled fictional version of Vogue editor Anna Wintour, in the movie "The Devil Wears Prada." Wintour clearly has no hard feelings because she selected Streep as a co-chair along with Lin-Manuel Miranda and fellow Oscar-winner Emma Stone. Designer Nicolas Ghesquiere rounds out the group. The gala's theme is "About Time: Fashion and Duration," which...

Scorsese, De Niro and Pacino on time and 'The Irishman'

Dec 15, 2019

NEW YORK — They come into the room not like the moveable Mount Rushmore that they are but like three old friends, energized by being in each other's company. They are chatting about movies. Martin Scorsese comes first, then Al Pacino, then Robert De Niro. They're trailed by a small army of publicists and assistants that quickly recedes out of the room. Constant through the momentary commotion is Scorsese enthusiastically remembering Michael Powell and Emeric Pressburger's "A Matter of Life and Death," and quoting its lines to a rapt Pacino. Their movie, "The Irishman," also deals majestically with matters of...
