A new dimension in tonal analytics: Helios Life Enterprises launches second product, Mercury
During corporate audio events, investors have long since based their decisions on what an executive is saying—the surface-level meanings, but perhaps not the whole truth. By looking deeper into how they are saying their words, more powerful data can be extracted for a whole new channel of alpha generation.
Helios Life Enterprises combines science and technology to create a voice API that can extract meaningful data from earnings conference calls—or any type of corporate audio, for that matter. Backed by neurolinguistics, neuroscience, and unique Helios machine learning algorithms, the Helios platform allows investors to pick up on what a CEO is not saying, which can help them make better decisions on the next trading day. After all, the best person to know about a firm’s present and future performance is the person at the very top—and their voice is a source of valuable information beyond what they are saying.
After the successful release of Comprehend in 2019, Helios Life Enterprises has launched its second product: Mercury. Chief Executive Officer, Sean Austin, has seen this moment coming since the inception of the company. “We always knew audio is everywhere, but we had to start with the most hardcore use case on the planet… hedge funds.” His candor expresses the absolute certainty that tone of voice provides value across every domain of life.
Comprehend was a unique and powerful product in and of itself due to its advanced voice processing and AI technology, proving to be an invaluable tool for quantitative hedge firms. Taking what they have learned from this product and taking it a step further, Helios has created a new platform that is more accessible and provides a more human-readable tonal sentiment score.
A whole new dimension of tonal sentiment analysis in and of itself, Mercury allows customers to send in audio event calls for analysis. In just a few hours, customers will be able to receive a unique tonal sentiment, allowing them to unlock the human voice at scale. And all of this is rooted in well-researched scientific data, most of which unique to Helios Life Enterprises.
Earnings conference calls contain valuable information that can predict where the market is going. Not only that, but the content of these calls has a substantial influence on the dynamics of the market. With Mercury as the next-generation API for audio analysis, the possibilities of alpha generation are endless—and we can only expect tremendous amounts of potential in the future.
