A Union City Awards Shop Gives Tips on Employee Appreciation

August 02, 2019 - /PressAdvantage/ - UNION CITY, Calif.—Alpine Awards recently shared a blog post on employee appreciation. The Union City awards shop shared some advice on employee appreciation that they and other businesses have practiced over the years.

One of the methods they practiced for employee appreciation was fun Fridays. “Embrace TGIF and offer a new activity or free food for employees to kick off the weekend,” their blog says. “Think an ice cream bar, a yoga class, or a volunteer opportunity. It boosts morale and spreads the reminder that the office environment is about more than just work!”

Another method that Alpine Awards recommended was starting a holiday tradition for the office. According to their blog post, many businesses have tried this using gift exchanges, fundraisers, potlucks and more. Alpine Awards writes that having a holiday tradition gives the office something to look forward to during the busy holiday seasons.

One of the more popular employee appreciation methods listed on the Alpine Awards blog was having a coffee or beverage bar set up in the office. Coffee has grown in popularity rapidly for decades. If it can be provided in the workplace, many employees will feel more comfortable and happier according to the Union City corporate award provider.

A method of employee appreciation that Alpine Awards recommended is actually put into practice at another business: giving new employees greeting cards welcoming them to the company. In their blog post, Alpine Awards quoted Oren Powell, a project manager at an online marketing agency, on his experience giving new employees friendly cards. “Many of our employees—current and past—still have the card that I gave them when they first started working for our business,” Powell says.

The Alpine Awards blog also listed non-work-related activities as a form of employee appreciation. According to Alpine Awards, these are effective for building teamwork. Popular activities for employee appreciation are escape rooms, cookouts, sporting events and more. Employees will appreciate a break from work, according to the blog post.

A corporate-sponsored retreat is a step further than non-work-related activities concerning employee appreciation. The blog article explains that employers can take their employees camping, to a park or anywhere else outside of the workplace. These corporate-sponsored retreats can last anywhere from an afternoon to a weekend, and even longer if allowed. According to Alpine Awards, retreats are popular with employees because they are brief sponsored vacations that give a change of pace.

The final point on their blog post about employee appreciation was to celebrate the employees’ achievements. Alpine Awards says that employers can take advantage of the inventory of promotional gifts and awards. Alpine Awards offers services to help employers create the perfect gift using customer service and custom creation services.
