Digital hindering looks nearly identical to traditional foil marking, but instead of making a “stamping pass away” and melting foil onto the card, the image to be foiled is digitally printed. A different type of foil is utilised which sticks to the printed image. It is offered in a variety of foil colours, but can not be colour matched like digital printing. The outcome is a beautifully crisp and glittering surface image, with stark contrast to the surrounding card and graphics.
When the present owners Tim and Melissa Morris took over business in 2009 they understood that there was plenty of space for development of the organisation. Over the years they introduced letterpress printing, offset printing and the Spot UV Over-gloss process. Their passionate staff aspire to help clients with the option of material and printing process, and the printing shop has a dynamic friendly culture that makes new consumers recurring clients.
As digital foil is printed directly from a file on the computer there are no set up costs, making it ideal for brief runs and smaller orders. It can provide a professional finish in half the time as traditional foil application. It doesn’t have the very same physical quality as traditional hot foil printing. As there is no heat included the ink sits on top of the paper rather than being imprinted into it. The paper choice is limited compared to hot foil printing and in some cases likewise requires to be sealed with a laminate.
When used on variable data, Laserfoil Design and Print introduced Digital Foil for the versatility that it offers. This indicates that they could individually foil the name of each guest who will get an invitation. This ability is a winner as people like to see that they are addressed personally.
Wedding invitations and cards are perfect products for using Digital printing. Order these stationery from Laserfoil by visiting the website http://laserfoil.co.nz or use e-mail to send the design for discussion of the layout and design with one of the Laserfoil Design and Print experts.
