AMR and UAS Take the Stage at WorldSkills Shanghai 2026
Sep 23, 2026
AMR challenges Competitors to design, build, program, and test mobile robots while demonstrating skills in areas including mechanical systems, electronics, sensors, autonomous navigation, and control systems. The official WorldSkills AMR collection provides the components and technology Competitors need to build and configure their competition robots.
WorldSkills Shanghai 2026 also marks the debut of Unmanned Aerial Systems as a WorldSkills skill. Competitors will apply skills in areas such as flight control, navigation, sensors, electronics, software, and troubleshooting as they work with unmanned aircraft systems.
Earlier this year, Studica Robotics partnered with WorldSkills Jamaica to support an international AMR and UAS training camp, bringing together Competitors and Experts from Jamaica, Brazil, Barbados, China, and Singapore. The hands-on program provided experience with the technologies and competition methodologies Competitors would encounter in Shanghai.
"WorldSkills brings together talented young people who have dedicated significant time and effort to developing their skills," said Derek Murphy, General Manager of Studica Robotics. "We are proud to support these Competitors and Experts and to see AMR and UAS showcased on the global stage."
As a Global Partner of WorldSkills and the exclusive supplier for these exciting competitions, Studica Robotics is proud to support the Competitors taking the stage in Shanghai. Studica supplies the official WorldSkills Autonomous Mobile Robotics Collection and the Studica WS500 Quadcopter Kit used for the UAS competition.
As the competition continues through September 26, Competitors in the AMR and UAS competitions are demonstrating the technical expertise, creativity, and problem-solving skills that will help shape the future of these rapidly evolving fields.
