Author Kate Hughes's new book 'Alliance' tells the captivating story of two twins who find themselves separated after crash landing on a war-torn planet
Aug 15, 2022
Kate Hughes has completed her new book "Alliance": a powerful story of the bond between two siblings and the choices they make when they find themselves stranded on an alien planet during a routine mission to find resources.
"The year is 2066, and the planet Earth is running out of resources," writes Hughes. "The company WEM, World Exploration Mission, was established to help find a habitable planet to move the population of Earth. Twins Sky and Zee started training at a young age for this mission and soon were top of their class. They trained academically and physically in math, science, and hand-to-hand combat.
"After being picked for this mission, the twins board their ship that will house them until they come across a planet to explore. Unexpectedly, the ship crashes onto a mythical planet in the middle of a war. Their ship gets blown apart, separating the twins, Zee on one half and Sky on the other.
"After the crash, Zee loses her memory, and Sky suffers the loss of her leg. Will the twins be able to overcome the physiological and physical challenges and get back to each other? Will good or evil win, or will they succumb to the war?"
Published by Newman Springs Publishing, Kate Hughes's spellbinding tale was inspired by the author's desire to create a story that would help spark people's imagination and distract from the stress in the world. As the story between Zee and Sky unfolds, their relationship will be tested, and alliances will be drawn. Expertly paced and beautifully written, this character-driven narrative will remain with readers long after its conclusion.
Readers who wish to experience this gripping work can purchase "Alliance" at bookstores everywhere, or online at the Apple iBooks Store, Amazon, or Barnes and Noble.
