Traumatic Brain Injury is a major cause of death and disability in the United States, with the average number of TBI-related hospitalizations, emergency facility visits and deaths increasing 53% from 2006 to 2014. Long-lasting effects of TBI can include thinking or memory impairment, loss of brain functions, damage to vision or hearing, or emotional functioning.

Dr. David Musnick’s DMMD modality approaches the underlying changes and physiology (pathophysiology) of what happens in the brain that most neurologists and doctors do not address and is crucial for brain healing. These include Neuroinflammation, Mitochondrial dysfunction, Microglial cells, Blood Brain Barrier, etc. This program uses brain support supplements, a brain injury diet, EMF protection, Brain Training, exercise and Frequency Specific Microcurrent to address the brain physiology and damage.

David Musnick, MD has been in private practice in Bellevue since 2003, and was in practice in Seattle prior to that. He is Board Certified in Sports Medicine and Internal Medicine and is a Certified Practitioner of Functional Medicine. His specialty areas include Concussion and TBI, Functional Medicine, Functional Immunology, Autoimmune Disease, Pain Management, Osteoarthritis and more.

The DMMD approach is based on the pathophysiology of what happens after a concussion or TBI. This technique can be applied to the acute and subacute stages of the injury, as well as for those patients with chronic symptoms after a head injury. Issues that can be addressed include headaches, brain fog, fatigue, sleep issues, vision, dizziness, cognitive dysfunction, and mood issues.

Peak Medicine is Dr. David Musnick’s leading edge clinic in Sports and Functional Holistic Medicine. In addition to Concussion and TBI patients, they see patients seeking approaches to problems like fatigue, arthritis, autoimmune disease, and auto-accidents or work-related injuries.

David Musnick, MD states the importance of DMMD, and why patients looking for solutions should consult a doctor. “Not addressing the physiological processes in the brain can lead to poor outcomes, loss of brain functions, brain fog, low energy, headaches, and very slow to poor recovery.”
