In regards to his educational background, Dr. Simmons earned his medical degree from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine in 2016. He then went on to perform an internship in internal medicine at Orange Park Medical Center in 2017, and a residency in dermatology at Mary Hitchcock Memorial Hospital in 2020.
That same year, he attained board certification in dermatology through the American Board of Dermatology (ABD). The ABD is one of 24 medical specialty boards that make up the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS).
"During my research fellowship at the University of Miami, I successfully published over 50 papers and wrote multiple book chapters in the field of dermatology in high impact journals such as Journal of Investigative Dermatology, JAMA Dermatology, and Journal of the European Academy of Dermatology. This has continued through my residency training as I pursue areas of interest including utilizing technology to bridge the gap in access to medical care, continued research interest, and involvement in clinical trials" as stated by Dr. Simmons.
