The company anticipates that this curriculum update will allow more educators to supplement their primary academic programming with formative emotional intelligence learning. "My Best Me" is certified by the University of Oklahoma Hope Research Center because it qualifies as an effective program for fostering hopeful, resilient behaviors in students by teaching them crucial psycho-social skills through interactive learning materials.

With this update, Hope Rising offers K-12 schools an EI curriculum that is built on scientific research on adverse childhood experiences, childhood psychology, emotional intelligence, and the effects of hope. "My Best Me" was designed by a diverse group of education experts, child specialists, authors, and emotional intelligence experts from around the world.

Around two-thirds of the students in the average American classroom have endured at least one Adverse Childhood Experience (ACE), which is a potentially traumatic event between ages 0-17. Often, ACEs cause students to develop depression, anxiety, and learning impairments, and can lead to lower graduation rates. If unaddressed, these issues can develop into substance abuse problems, unemployment, and suicidal ideation as students grow into adulthood.

"My Best Me" uses scientific research on the power of hope to teach students how to set positive goals, create pathways to their goals, and build the willpower required to achieve their goals. Students increase their hope for the future by developing these practical skills and applying them in the curriculum's five core areas: identity, health, community, environment, and economics.

This three-step goal-achieving method in "My Best Me" guides students to understand their own identity, personality, and personal strengths and then define their goals based on that understanding. This builds students' confidence and sense of self and sets them on a clear academic path that reflects their personal interests, needs, and desires.
