Business Owner Burnout Prevention With Focused Work Schedule: Course Launched
Oct 8, 2026
John Briggs, CPA and CEO of Incite Tax, has released a self-paced online course built around his 3.3 Rule, a structured approach to managing focused work and recovery that aims to help business owners reduce burnout and build more sustainable operations.
Draper, United States, October 8, 2026 /PressCable/ -- John Briggs, CPA and CEO of Incite Tax, has announced a new on-demand online course expanding on the concepts in his book, Take Breaks, Work Better. Structured around the 3.3 Rule, a framework pairing focused work blocks with intentional recovery periods, the course targets business owners and their teams looking to build more sustainable work habits without sacrificing output.
More details about the course are available at https://takebreaksworkbetter.com/course/
The course arrives amid ongoing concerns about burnout among business owners. According to Bluevine's 2026 Business Owner Success Survey of approximately 1,200 U.S. small business owners, 27 percent reported higher-than-expected levels of burnout. Administrative work, personnel issues, customer needs, and strategic planning often compete for the same limited hours, and the autonomy of ownership can make it harder to draw clear boundaries between work and personal time.
At the center of the program is the 3.3 Rule, which calls for working in focused stretches of up to three hours, followed by a break equal to at least 30 percent of that time. "The 3.3 Rule isn't asking you to do less. It's showing you how to produce more in the hours you already have," Briggs said. The course applies this structure to individual schedules and team workflows alike.
The self-paced program includes nine on-demand video modules with on-camera coaching from Briggs, as well as the Take Breaks, Work Better Companion Workbook as a PDF download and additional tools that expand on the book's framework. The course also provides resources to help participants apply the 3.3 Rule to their own schedules and teams.
Additional topics covered include task prioritization, work-life boundaries, delegation, and recovery. The course addresses how business owners can reduce unnecessary workload, protect personal time, and create clearer structures for managing work.
Briggs is an author and speaker who previously wrote "Profit First for Microgyms," applying the Profit First cash-management method to gym business owners. He has also appeared on more than one hundred podcasts.
Available online for $297, the course offers immediate, lifetime access to all materials.
