Board-certified in internal medicine and neurocritical care, the doctor is a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.
Licensed to practice medicine in Texas, Dr. Burdick is affiliated with Methodist Hospital, Baptist Medical Center, St. Luke's Baptist Hospital, and Methodist Hospital Specialty and Transplant.

Neurocritical care medicine focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of life-threatening diseases of the nervous system, including brain and spinal cord trauma, cerebral edema, ruptured aneurysms, severe strokes, encephalitis and meningitis, refractory seizures, complicated brain tumors. A neurocritical care physician, or neurointensivist, treats patients with neurological disorders or traumatic brain injuries.
