He describes himself in the manuscript as a layman in theology, philosophy, and science, while drawing on 47 years as a trial lawyer who wrote hundreds of briefs and memoranda, argued thousands of cases, and cross-examined experts across numerous fields. He studied English and law at the University of Florida and developed his approach to the book around presenting and defending arguments in clear language for other lay readers.
