CodaPet Expands Compassionate In-Home Pet Euthanasia Services to Oklahoma City Region
Nov 16, 2022
CodaPet announced that it is expanding its reach into the Oklahoma City region after a successful launch in Fresno, CA, earlier this year. The company provides peaceful in-home pet euthanasia through a network of compassionate and licensed veterinarians who offer end-of-life care for cats, dogs and larger animals at home. This is the best experience for pets and their families because their home is where they feel most loved and comfortable.
Responding to increasing demand, Dr. Karen Whala, Co-Founder of CodaPet, partnered with fellow veterinarians Drs. Gary and Bethany Hsia to increase access to compassionate in-home euthanasia.
"There is no greater final gift you can give your beloved pet than to carry out their wishes for a peaceful, pain-free, and stress-free transition in a familiar setting surrounded by everything they love and enjoy. As an in-home euthanasia veterinarian, I repeatedly hear the heartfelt gratitude and the relief a family feels when they have been able to grant their pet this gift. It is my wish that every family in the Oklahoma City area becomes aware of this option so they may provide a peaceful and compassionate end-of-life experience for their beloved pets when their time comes," says Dr. Whala.
Dr. Cristina White, a veterinarian with 17 years of experience, is the company's first local partner in Oklahoma City. "I am happy to partner with CodaPet because I strongly believe in the benefits of in-home pet euthanasia. It is a better option for pets, as most cats and dogs fear going to a vet clinic. In-home pet euthanasia helps both pets and their families find peace at this moment in life. It also eases much of the stress by allowing families to provide the best care possible in the comfort and privacy of their own home, in a peaceful manner," says Dr. White.

How In-home Pet Euthanasia Works
Through CodaPet's website, pet parents can easily book in-home pet euthanasia performed by a licensed vet.
● Before the appointment, the vet contacts the family to address any questions or concerns they might have.
● The vet assists the family by going over the diagnosis and applying a quality-of-life assessment to objectively assess the pet's health and ensure there is no uncertainty about the need for euthanasia.
● For those who need support with aftercare, CodaPet can also assist with transportation and cremation services.
● The visit takes, on average, one hour. Pet parents have a window of time to be with their pets privately before and after the euthanasia procedure. The vet only starts the euthanasia process when everyone is ready. This helps bring closure to all family members involved in the end-of-life care of a pet.
