The Edmonton chiropractor is knowledgeable and experienced in the various methods which are utilized to relieve pain and enhance health and wellness for patients throughout the Edmonton area. Chiropractors Dr. Ashley Todd, Dr. Carly Presakarchuk, Dr. James Lemieux are joined by massage therapists Shannon Proskow, Erikka Opinio, and Jeff Moggach in a range of therapeutic services.
Chiropractic methods are often applied as therapy for over-used muscles and other soft tissues changes, as well as tissue injury. The changes which occur with over-used muscles and other damage to soft tissues may arise from acute conditions such as pulls, tears or collisions; an accumulation of small tears; or from not getting enough oxygen. Each of the factors causes the body to produce tough, dense scar tissue in the affected area. Tissue injury can be caused by a single traumatic event, such as improper lifting of a heavy object, or through repetitive stresses.
Active Release Therapy or A.R.T. is a state-of-the-art soft tissue system/movement-based massage technique that treats problems with muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia, and nerves. At Performance Chiropractic, the practitioners have all attained full body status in Active Release Techniques, and are certified A.R.T. providers helping hundreds of athletes of all calibers.
Massage therapy is a hands-on technique aimed to improve health and well-being by reducing pain and stress. By utilizing a combination of myofascial therapies, treatment is focused on reducing trigger points, chronic strain patterns, adhesions, and scar tissue in order to achieve a quick return to peak performance. Acupuncture techniques are directed at providing quality placement using the most up-to-date rehabilitation services designed for everyone.
