First Aid Trauma Kit with Tourniquet for Hunting Emergency Preparedness Launched
Oct 7, 2026
As hunting season opens, 1stHour announces its 82-piece 1stHour Trauma Kit, designed to help hunters and rural families control severe bleeding and treat serious injuries during the long wait for emergency medical services to arrive.
Deer Park, United States, October 7, 2026 /PressCable/ -- As fall hunting season opens across the country, emergency preparedness company 1stHour is drawing attention to a dangerous gap that many hunters never plan for: the time between a severe bleeding injury and the arrival of professional help. To help close that gap, the company is highlighting the 1stHour Trauma Kit, an 82-piece kit built to help people respond to serious bleeding, wounds, fractures, burns and shock in the critical minutes before emergency medical services arrive.

Hunters often spend long days far from the nearest hospital, notes the 1stHour team. An American College of Surgeons study found that for patients with the most severe injuries, total EMS call times averaged 97.1 minutes in rural areas, compared with 69 minutes nationally. Yet according to the CDC, 44% of Americans do not have a first aid kit on hand.
That delay matters, because early action can change outcomes. A multicenter study published in the Journal of the American College of Surgeons found that civilian tourniquet use before reaching the hospital was linked to a six-fold reduction in deaths among patients with serious blood-vessel injuries to the arms or legs.
To assist in case of an emergency, the 1stHour Trauma Kit goes beyond the bandages and antiseptic wipes found in a standard first aid box. It comprises a windlass-style combat tourniquet, a four-inch Israeli emergency pressure bandage, compressed gauze, a splint roll, EMT trauma shears, an emergency blanket, a CPR mask and burn gel.
Additional emergency medical items featured in the kit include nitrile gloves, a cold pack, sting relief pads, iodine prep pads, lubricating jelly, medical tape, and a chest seal.
All 82 items are organized inside a MOLLE pouch that clips to a backpack strap, vehicle headrest or ATV frame, so it stays within reach. A short manual guides users through each item, and 1stHour encourages owners to take a Stop the Bleed class for added confidence.
