J. Irene Hickey's New Book 'Lost! the Adventures of Boomer and Matilda' Follows the Unexpected Adventure of Two Animals Into the Wild, the Unknown, and the Unfamiliar
Apr 7, 2022
Fulton Books author, J. Irene Hickey, a writer, poet, and author, has completed her most recent book "Lost! The Adventures of Boomer and Matilda": a thrilling tale about a kangaroo and a koala bear who find themselves lost in a Texas forest after an accident in a rainstorm inadvertently freed them from their crates. Will they be able to go back home? Especially now that a reporter, a zoologist, and a state trooper are on their tails?
Hickey shares, "One moment, Boomer and Matilda were playing with their friends in the bush in Australia, and the next, they were being transported to the Ellen Trout Zoo in Lufkin, Texas! Boomer, a kangaroo from New South Wales, Australia, and Matilda, a koala bear from Queensland, Australia, had never traveled out of their homeland. On the final leg of their journey, the truck in which they were being transported spun out of control in a violent rainstorm. As a result, the truck flipped on its side and slid for several yards before stopping. Their crates were tossed about inside the truck, and when the truck stopped sliding, the doors of their crates sprang open, as did the doors to the truck itself. Boomer and Matilda, shaken but uninjured, found themselves in an unknown land, in a bad storm, and in the dark.
They were frightened, tired, hungry, and lost!
Little did they know at the time, but they were going to be tracked by the zoologist responsible for their transport to the zoo and the Texas State Trooper trying to solve the mystery of the truck accident. And as if that weren't enough, an overeager reporter seeking fame by 'saving' the community from wild animals was also hot on their trail.
Two escaped 'wild' animals, an eager reporter, a confused zoologist, and a determined state trooper all cross paths in this first adventure of Boomer and Matilda. They were about to embark on an adventure that will forever change their lives!"
Published by Fulton Books, J. Irene Hickey's exciting fiction takes the young readers to a wild adventure with Boomer and Matilda as they found themselves on an adventure trying to get back to Australia.
While it is an illustrated narrative written for children, it will also entertain readers of all ages as well! In addition to the colorful illustrations found throughout the book, coloring book pages have been inserted at the back, which provide children of all ages the opportunity to color the adventure of Boomer and Matilda to their liking.
