Joel Colbeck Introduces Happy Harvest Day! A Beginner's Guide, Offering a Faith-Centered Alternative to Halloween
Sep 24, 2026
Author invites families, churches, and communities to celebrate a season of prayer, blessings, fellowship, and outreach
Tomah, Wisconsin Sep 24, 2026 (Issuewire.com) - Author, inventor, public speaker, and media host Joel "Train" Colbeck, MBA is introducing readers to a new way of approaching the final Saturday of October through his book, Happy Harvest Day! A Beginner's Guide. The book presents the idea of a proposed holiday centered on prayer, generosity, community fellowship, and sharing blessings with others.
Rather than focusing on traditional Halloween activities, Happy Harvest Day! encourages participants to spend the season praying for other people so they may "harvest" blessings from their Heavenly Father. The concept can also be celebrated through gatherings and festivities held on the last Saturday of October, providing families, churches, and communities with an opportunity to come together around a positive, faith-centered message.
Colbeck says the inspiration for the book came from the extensive marketing and promotion surrounding Halloween each fall. As a Christian, he wanted to offer an alternative that would provide a more positive focus while creating opportunities for people to bless others and share their faith.
The book is designed particularly for Christians who want practical ways to serve their communities, strengthen their churches, reach others, and put their faith into action.
"You say you want to serve the Lord, but you don't know how or don't have the time or resources," Colbeck writes. Happy Harvest Day! presents a framework intended to bring those aspirations together through prayer, fellowship, service, and outreach.
The author believes the concept can serve multiple purposes: encouraging believers to become a positive influence in their communities, giving churches an opportunity to engage with their neighbors, and creating a setting where people can share the Christian faith through acts of kindness and generosity.
Colbeck has also featured Happy Harvest Day! on an episode of Healthy Rails, his show and YouTube channel, where the book and its concept received dedicated discussion.
An author, inventor, public speaker, and host, Colbeck brings together his professional experience and Christian faith in his writing and public outreach. Through Happy Harvest Day! A Beginner's Guide, he invites readers to consider how a simple idea of praying for others and intentionally seeking opportunities to bless them can become the foundation for a meaningful community celebration.
