La Grange, IL Holiday Boarding For Pets Announced For October Long Weekend
Sep 21, 2026
Belle Aire Kennels (630-969-3145), a family-run boarding facility in Downers Grove serving La Grange pet owners, announces open reservations for short-term stays over the Columbus Day and Indigenous Peoples' Day holiday weekend, which also coincides with the Chicago Marathon.
Downers Grove, United States, September 21, 2026 /PressCable/ -- Belle Aire Kennels, a boarding facility located in Downers Grove serving pet owners throughout La Grange and the surrounding western suburbs of Chicago, announces that reservations are open for short-term boarding stays over the upcoming Columbus Day and Indigenous Peoples' Day holiday weekend.

Falling on Monday, October 12, 2026, the Columbus Day and Indigenous Peoples' Day celebrations create a three-day weekend that begins Saturday, October 10. The same weekend coincides with the Bank of America Chicago Marathon, scheduled for Sunday, October 11, 2026, which organizers expect to draw more than 55,000 runners and hundreds of thousands of spectators into the city. Between the marathon crowds and the long weekend, the western suburbs typically see a spike in travel, a stretch when many pet owners find themselves needing reliable, short-notice care for a dog or cat.
At Belle Aire Kennels, the owners live on-site, so guest pets are never left in an empty building overnight. The arrangement gives each dog or cat a familiar face checking in around the clock, rather than a facility that closes once staff head home for the evening. The kennel is state certified and inspected, and both dogs and cats are welcomed, with each guest settled into a routine suited to its own temperament and comfort level.
For more than sixty years in the La Grange area, Belle Aire Kennels has been part of the routine for generations of local families, many of whom return each time they travel, trusting the experienced team to look after a pet as though it were their own.
"Each furry guest at our facility experiences a personal, safe and fun environment that perfectly balances temperament and stress while being away from their people," says owner Melissa O'Driscoll. "We ensure the highest of pet care standards, requiring vaccinations and thorough care information for every dog, cat, and beloved guest we welcome."
Families planning drop-off or pickup around the Columbus Day weekend are encouraged to coordinate timing directly with Belle Aire Kennels, since marathon-related road closures and holiday scheduling can affect the best times to travel to and from the facility.
