Holding an Associate of Arts in Nursing degree with a minor in English, Leah is certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
In practice for over a decade, having multiple sclerosis has made her extremely adaptable in her career in nursing. Leah attributes her success to her mother, who is the strong woman that Leah wants to be. She has taken that strength and determination her mother gave her and tries to set a good example for her two kids.
A Registered Nurse (RN) is a nurse who has graduated from a nursing program and met the requirements outlined by a country, state, province, or similar licensing body to obtain a nursing license. RNs fulfill a variety of job duties. In addition to their primary role in treating and caring for patients, their responsibilities also include educating patients and the public about a variety of medical conditions, as well as providing emotional support and advice to the families of their patients. Other RN job functions include leadership, research, performing diagnostic tests and analyzing results, operating medical equipment, administering medications, recording patients' symptoms and medical histories, and assisting with patient rehabilitation and follow-up.
A travel nurse is a skilled healthcare professional who takes assignments in hospitals that have short term staffing needs. Traveling is an excellent career choice for nurses who have a minimum of 12 months recent acute care clinical experience and want to advance their careers, salaries, or lifestyles. It gives them the opportunity to build their clinical competency through assignments at award-winning facilities while visiting exciting new locations across the country.
