Popularized in the 1980s, liposuction is a cosmetic surgery procedure in which a licensed and certified cosmetic surgeon uses a cannula to remove excessive fat from thighs, the abdomen and other areas. While it is an effective method of removing fat deposits, the long recovery times and the relatively high financial costs deter many from opting for such a procedure.
The online report offers a brief overview of cryolipolysis, a new non-surgical, non-invasive fat removal procedure using cell freezing to reduce excessive fat.
According to the report, cryolipolysis is based on the fact that fat cells are considerably more sensitive to cold compared to the overlying skin or the underlying soft tissue. The fat cells can therefore be targeted by the application of a freezing agent without harming any other layers.
The non-invasive fat removal procedure involves the skin and fat being placed between two cold plates which freeze and render the fat cells unfunctional. The dead cells are then removed through natural metabolic processes within two to three months after the intervention.
The procedure is used to remove abdominal fat excesses, inner and outer thigh deposits, as well as sculpt the upper torso area.
While not as immediately effective as surgical liposuction, cryolipolysis has a number of advantages. According to the report, the procedure does not involve any recovery times, avoids the common bruises and scars associated with traditional liposuction, and is also considerably more affordable.
The report is part of the clinic’s larger effort of popularizing non-surgical cosmetic treatments to help clients achieve their fat loss goals without the common negative after-effects associated with traditional surgery.
