Lowe's Partnership Update Regarding MILLIE Support for Military Families
Aug 13, 2020
Lowe’s announced earlier this year their $170 million community commitment toward the COVID-19 pandemic relief efforts by supporting their associates, hiring more team members, and giving back to their communities. One community outreach partnership is with MILLIE in support of military families undertaking a relocation during the pandemic. In partnership with Lowe’s, MILLIE is giving away 300 tasks performed by MILLIE Scouts, to military families who need a helping hand during relocations.
MILLIE Scouts help military families with information gathering and in-person tasks related to a Permanent Change of Station (PCS) move. MILLIE has over 140 Scouts stationed at 118 bases across the United States. Military families have said the following about their experience with the #LetsPCSTogether initiative sponsored by Lowe’s:
“Nicole was amazing! She was available within 30 minutes’ notice for a refrigerator delivery. She sent me pictures of everything happening and even called to follow up with turning the air on in the home before our PCS there. She was amazing!” - Corie W.
“It was great to have Lori’s help on our chaotic loading day. She jumped in and helped with little tasks I needed a second set of hands and eyes for. She was kind and understanding about my stress, and it was helpful to have someone who has experience with a military PCS. Thank you, Lori, MILLIE, and Lowe’s!” - Kelly W.
“Valerie was amazing with transporting our beagle from Clearwater to Miami to fly her out to Puerto Rico. She treated Arabella like her own. She made sure we had all of our documents and everything we needed knowing the stress we already had during our PCS. She kept us informed on everything throughout the process. I’ve never had someone so amazing to care for Arabella like she did!” -Alicia S.
So far MILLIE has received over 50 support inquiries and helped families in nine states. To learn more go to LetsPCStogether
