Lua Launches Privacy-Focused Period and Birth Control Tracking Application for iPhone
Sep 22, 2026
Delaware, United States, September 22, 2026 /MarketersMEDIA/ -- A new health application designed to help women track menstrual cycles and manage contraception without creating an account or sharing data with external servers has been released for iPhone users. Lua combines period prediction, contraceptive reminders, and fertility tracking in a single application that stores all health information locally on the user's device.
The application supports multiple contraceptive methods, including daily pill reminders, vaginal ring insertion and removal schedules, weekly patch changes, injection appointment tracking, and replacement date monitoring for intrauterine devices and implants. Each method includes tailored scheduling and notification logic specific to its requirements.
Lua provides cycle phase information, period predictions based on individual history, and fertile window estimates. Users can log bleeding patterns, flow intensity, physical symptoms such as cramps and headaches, mood changes, energy levels, and intimacy records. The application presents this information in a chronological health timeline without requiring navigation between separate tracking tools.
The application includes a mode for users attempting to conceive, which highlights predicted fertile days and allows logging of basal body temperature, cervical mucus observations, and ovulation predictor kit results. When pregnancy occurs, users can switch to pregnancy tracking while retaining their historical cycle data within the same application.
According to information provided by the developer, Lua does not require user registration, does not display advertisements, and does not employ third-party analytics services. The application operates without transmitting health data to remote servers, with all information remaining on the user's iPhone. Face ID protection is available for additional privacy.
The application integrates with Apple Health, allowing users to import existing cycle history for immediate prediction accuracy and to export logged data. Users control which specific data categories are shared through individual permission settings.
Lua requires iOS 16.4 or later and is available as a free download from the App Store with optional in-app purchases. The application includes a disclaimer stating it provides predictions and reminders for informational purposes only, is not a medical device, does not provide medical advice or diagnosis, and should not be used as a contraceptive method.
About Lua
Lua is a period and contraceptive tracking application for iPhone that emphasizes local data storage and user privacy. The application combines menstrual cycle monitoring, contraception management, fertility tracking, and pregnancy following in a single interface.
