Thomas Deir, Hawaii painter and tile mural artist, is erupting with new works of art that are on display at three one-man shows on Oahu this summer for art lovers and homeowners.

After inspirational excursions to the California’s Bay Area and the Big Island of Hawaii, artist Thomas Deir returned to Oahu bursting with fresh ideas for new paintings. Now through the summer, new abstract Hawaii paintings and popular Thomas Deir realistic-style artwork will be on display at three locations..

Deir, a popular Hawaii artist, was born in New York, and raised in Hawaii. He made his recent pilgrimage to San Francisco and the surrounding Bay Area to connect with present-day culture and technology. From there he ventured to the Big Island of Hawaii where he stayed just 5 miles from the Halamaumau Crater in Volcano, Hawaii. The result of the juxtaposed journeys are fresh and lively interpretations of Hawaii with exciting action, color and feelings.
When asked about the reasons behind taking the trips, prior to preparing for the one-man shows, Hawaii artist Thomas Deir said:
“For many years I have worked with methods to further capture an expression of Hawaii. Abstract Hawaii Paintings is an inclusion to the popular Hawaii artwork created at Thomas Deir Studios. I wanted to express new, lively works of art that represents the changes occurring here in the Islands” said Deir.
Deir is a multi-level artist creating, paintings on canvas, tile murals and stone mosaics. For many years homeowners and business owners have enjoyed Thomas Deir artwork. He is well known as a Hawaii tile mural artist. Deir also enjoys success as one of Hawaii’s popular marine-life and tropical-beach-scene artists. In the last few years Deir has expanded his creative vision and skills to embrace Hawaii abstract paintings. His impressive list of clients include Pierre Omidyar and Chi Chi Rodriquez. His work can be seen at the Hilton Waikiki Beach Resort, the Hale Koa Hotel in Waikiki, Castle Estate and Kaneohe Ranch, and one of his tile murals graces the entrance to the Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve on Oahu.
