New York Dry Eye Treatment For Blurred Vision, Optometry Practice Expanded
Jul 12, 2023
For New York residents struggling with blurred vision or headaches, the optometry practice Westchester Eyes ((914) 586-3937) has expanded its services to offer a variety of dry eye treatments.
Yonkers, United States - July 12, 2023 /PressCable/ —
With recent studies revealing that over 16 million Americans suffer from dry eye diseases, the latest expansion offers non-invasive treatment options to address common symptoms of dry eyes, including blurred vision, headaches, itching, burning, or tearing eyes, and light sensitivity.
More details can be found at https://www.westchestereyes.com/
Those with dry eye conditions either do not produce enough tears or their tears are of subpar quality, leaving the surface of the eye without proper lubrication, explains Westchester Eyes. As such, to diagnose dry eye issues, the practice performs testing to determine the quality of tear production.
Dry eye symptoms can develop for a range of reasons - from age to environmental conditions like smoke and dry climate. Certain medications, including antidepressants, antihistamines, and blood pressure medication, or medical conditions like diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, and thyroid problems may also increase dry eye risks.
After identifying the underlying cause of a patient's dry eye condition, Westchester Eyes' physicians may prescribe a combination of in-office and at-home treatments. Westchester Eyes has the technology to exfoliate the eyelids, treat Meibomian Gland Dystrophy, or use thermoelectric heat to break down hardened meibum that may be inhibiting tear production. At-home treatments may include lid scrubs, warm compresses, prescription eye drops, artificial tears, or nutritional additions like Omega-3s.
