Plainsboro, NJ Mixed-Age Home Daycare For Infants To Pre-K: Program Updated
Sep 21, 2026
RisingStars Family Childcare (609-785-5094) has announced an update to its home-based daycare program in Plainsboro, New Jersey, where children from infancy through age five are cared for together in a single-family setting, with daily routines tailored to the full age range.
Plainsboro Township, United States, September 21, 2026 /NewsNetwork/ -- RisingStars Family Childcare, a state-licensed home-based daycare operating in Plainsboro, New Jersey, since 2015, has announced an update to its program highlighting how it serves children from birth through age five in a single mixed-age group. Rather than separating children by age into distinct classrooms, the program brings infants, toddlers, and preschoolers together throughout the day under one roof and one consistent caregiver.
More details can be found at https://risingstarseducationplainsboro.com/
Daily activities at RisingStars follow the same arc for all age groups, with each session adjusted so it works for a toddler and a preschooler side by side. Rather than running separate lesson plans on separate schedules, the program applies its state-approved Creative Curriculum across the full age range at once.
The shift toward smaller, home-based care has been growing. According to data from Child Care Aware of America, the number of licensed family child care homes increased 4.3 percent from 2023 to 2024, the first upward trend in several years after a prolonged period of decline. The same organization reports that the national average annual cost of child care reached $13,184 in 2025, underscoring the financial pressure many families face when evaluating their options.
That national shift toward smaller, home-based settings points to something families already notice about programs like RisingStars: children are not moved into a new room or assigned a new caregiver every year. A child who starts in the infant group can stay with the same provider through preschool, without changing buildings, teachers, or routines along the way.
"A lot of parents tell us the home setting itself makes a difference before their child even gets used to us," said a RisingStars Family Childcare spokesperson. "It doesn't feel like dropping a child off at a facility. It feels more like leaving them somewhere familiar, and that tends to help kids settle in faster."
RisingStars Family Childcare operates from a home setting in Plainsboro, licensed to care for children from birth through age five, Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. The program follows a state-approved curriculum, participates in the Grow NJ Kids quality rating system, and offers flexible in-person or virtual tours for families considering enrollment.
