Proper Remaps Launches Free Remap Calculator With Engine-Specific Power and Torque Estimates
Nov 3, 2026
Proper Remaps is pleased to announce the launch of a new tool that provides engine-specific estimates for performance gains following remapping.
Bracknell, England, November 3, 2026 -- Mobile car remapping business Proper Remaps is pleased to announce it is now making its free remap calculator available on its website. All drivers need to do is enter vital statistics about their car, including the model, year of manufacture, and engine type and the tool will output the likely power and torque increases after a Stage 1 or Stage 2 remap.
Remapping has significant effects on the way vehicle engines run: drivers know the concept, but think it's only for race vehicles. Remapping, though, is something that virtually any car can benefit from to enhance performance.
Online figures are sometimes misleading and often refer to the “average” or “tested” performance increase from tuning. Specific cars of the same make and model, however, can have different engine performance, leading to vastly different remapping outcomes. That is one of the reasons why Proper Remaps is launching this tool. The calculator works from the engine itself rather than the vehicle model.
A spokesperson from Proper Remaps said the following:
“This new tool lists the predicted outcomes from remaps, basically metrics that car owners care about most. Stage 1 is the most popular option because it doesn't require any changes to vehicle components, whereas Stage 2 does need hardware upgrades. Usually, gains are between 15% and 35% for a Stage 1 remap and between 30% and 60% for Stage 2.”
Proper Remaps is keen to point out that any performance improvement gains are estimated, and that real-world testing is still required to determine the final result of remapping work. How much the performance of a car improves depends on the vehicle's service history and current condition. Cars naturally lose horsepower and torque over time as wear and tear takes its toll.
Drivers interested in a remapping quote can get in touch with Proper Remaps by phone or via its booking page. Remapping services are available for Audi, BMW, Ford, Volkswagen, Land Rover, Mercedes-Benz, and Porsche vehicles.
