More details can be found at: https://micheleaffronte.evrealestate.com/ListingDetails/10-W-Pier-Sausalito-CA-94965/322015257
Part of the newly available floating homes for sale is the houseboat at 10 West Pier, one of the larger homes currently available at 1400 square feet. It offers vaulted ceilings and generous sized skylights, three decks, and a great view of the water from both the living room and the large master bedroom. From the large rooftop Skydeck, there are also views of the other floating homes, the marina, and Mount Tamalpais.
A New Home Ownership Opportunity
On average, houseboats have gone up about 10% a year for the past several years. Indeed, according to Marin County Housing Data, homes in Sausalito have doubled in the last 10 years. Owing to the fact that most houseboat owners in the community are not interested in selling, turnover is relatively low. As a result, the homes now available are a rare opportunity.
Sausalito Floating Home Community
The new listings are expected to be highly sought after, as Sausalito is situated near the northern end of the Golden Gate Bridge, making it easily accessible to the greater San Francisco area. For those who may be interested in living and commuting, there is a 30-minute ferry that goes directly to downtown.
The floating homes now available for sale are located in Richardson Bay – an area abundant in sea life and home to seabirds, ducks, and Canadian geese. Fishing enthusiasts will find salmon, halibut, striped bass, sturgeon, sharks, jacksmelt, rockfish, croaker, and surfperch and crab.
According to local resident and house boat Realtor Michelle Affronte, “People from all over the world are now finding a respite on these floating homes. We have people from all over the country as well as Switzerland, Canada, France, Germany and other localities that have second homes here. This is also an amazing community to live full time. We have a large group of millennials and families that love working from home; artists, entrepreneurs as well as retirees and empty nesters.”
