STEVENS Engineers And Constructors Maintains Place As Top Steel Erection Company

August 03, 2020 - /PressAdvantage/ - Middleburg Hts, OH based STEVENS Engineering and Constructors, a company with a long-standing reputation in construction, is pleased to share that recent events have not curbed their ability to deliver on their clients’ high expectations. While the company is based in Cleveland, they also have offices in Northwest Indiana, Southeast Michigan, and just south of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in Southpointe.

The aforementioned locations allow the company to provide their clientele with personalized service throughout the surrounding areas. The company works predominantly in the regions of Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Kentucky, Maryland and Michigan. For certain requests made by specific clients, the company will travel outside this region for projects. STEVENS’ steel erection services deliver the highest quality results in every project undertaken, and this has not seen any dramatic change despite the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. Projects include construction of metal buildings, new structures, or even adding on to existing metal structures.

STEVENS is unique in its field within the engineering and construction marketplace as it brings extensive expertise to a project. As the company is one of the largest privately held construction organizations in North America, it is structured to offer clients all the benefits of true design-build capabilities, as mentioned on their website. For instance, Jeff Caudill recommends Stevens Engineers & Constructors as, “A very professional organization!” in a review on the company Facebook page.

The erection of steel structures is one of the most hazardous construction occupations in the United States. Concerned with the safety of client and crew, STEVENS takes measures to ensure the safety standards on all steel construction projects. The company prioritizes safety while adhering to the high industry standards for efficiency and quality. Today, these measures also include a variety of safe social distancing protocols and additional personal protective equipment (where necessary).

STEVENS recently subcontracted with the company Black & Veatch to erect a control building, generation building, combustion turbine building, pump building, and water treatment building for a combined cycle facility, Allegheny Energy, in Springdale, Pennsylvania. This project served as a showcase project for the company. The company also performed substantial excavation work and installed foundations over the course of the project.

This was a unique opportunity to showcase the company’s abilities as well, as part of this project involved the setting up of a bridge truss, all which was assembled onsite. Through STEVENS’ network of family companies, the project had access to extensive resources. The project boasted the use of a spreader beam designed to raise and secure the bridge truss. The STEVENS company’s adherence to the high standards for safety and efficiency for the duration of this portion of the project allowed the company to finish the project both safely and on schedule.

Other notable steel construction projects by the STEVENS company include the Hammond Sportsplex And Community Center in Hammond, Indiana and the project at ATI Vandergrift in Vandergrift, Pennsylvania. The Hammond Sportsplex was a particularly impressive and difficult construction project as it involved the erection of structural steel, joists and decking for a 135,000 square-foot complex. The specialized complex includes six basketball courts, 12 volleyball courts, two regulation-size indoor soccer fields and six batting cages.

The family of companies under the STEVENS Company involves multiple design business units that complement each other with a wide range of services, including feasibility studies, project management, construction engineering and so on. In line with these diverse services, the team at STEVENS Engineers & Constructors are all dedicated professionals who are in turn supported by trained and experienced craftsmen.

To quote the company website, “The Industrial Construction and Engineering industry is built and delivered on the foundation of transparency, honesty, and integrity our customers have come to expect,” a statement which STEVENS clearly upholds. A testimony by J&L Specialty Steel says, “Crucial to our future in the specialty steel industry, STEVENS’ work to improve our process line and tank farms for J&L Specialty Steel’s DRAP Pre-pickling Project is better than we had hoped. We’re impressed with the outcome and look forward to working together on future projects.”

The STEVENS company also specialises in heavy rigging, civil concrete, earthwork, demolition, excavation, millwright services, equipment setting, construction management and plant maintenance, including shutdown and turnaround services.
