Thirteen year old rock prodigy Ava Toton thrills in newest release of 2 singles: Like A Girl and Embers
Nov 8, 2022
At only 13 years old, Ava is already shredding her guitar to inevitable stardom.
Oakland, California Nov 7, 2022 (Issuewire.com) - Ava Toton is a 13-year-old rock singer, guitarist, and songwriter from Northern California. Her latest original song releases, 'Like A Girl, and 'Embers' will be released on all music platforms on 11/11/2022. 'Like a Girl and 'Embers' follow her debut EP A.V.A. at 11 (2021) and the follow-up Charm School Dropout at 12 (2022).
Ava writes her own music and co-writes her lyrics. She also performs all guitar and vocals.
The singles were produced, recorded, mixed, and mastered by Jacob Light at Modern Tone Studios in Lafayette, CA. Jacob Light plays bass guitar and Gideon Berger (Useless ID, War Bison, Kill The Drive) is on drums.
'Embers' is a driving, melancholic song about feeling down but not out, while 'Like a Girl' celebrates female empowerment. Ava spent a lot of time working on the guitar solos for these songs, and they are worthy of repeat listening. Ava is releasing these songs together because they represent the sometimes wild swings of emotion many people experience on any given day. Sort of the yin-yang of the average human navigating through daily life.
When critiquing 'Like A Girl', master songsmith (and Ava's songwriting idol) Desmond Child likened the song to the anthemic 'Love is A Battlefield' by Pat Benatar, with the underlying message of female empowerment.
From a recent review from FuzzyHound of Ava's Charm School Dropout EP:
"Ava Toton has already become a huge inspiration to rockers everywhere, young and old. She wants to show the world that rock and roll are not dead and introduce this music to her generation."

ABOUT
Ava received her first guitar for her 5th birthday and started taking lessons at 6. The rest is history. Ava's songwriting blossomed during the early lockdown days of COVID in 2020, and she continues to hone her writing.
When she's not shredding her guitar and composing rock songs, Ava Toton is your average 8th grader and loves playing video games and hanging out with her friends and family. You can catch her life when she plays her original music as part of the teen band, Alpha Z.
