The newly updated product range is well suited to Christmas or party occasions and can make showpiece meals for all the family. The Very Good Butchers explain that they believe in butchering beans, not animals. They were tired of the usual over-processed and sometimes bland meat alternatives and decided to create their own plant-based range.

The trained chefs took their products to farmers markets and after consistently selling out they decided to open their Victoria-based plant-focused butchery. They now offer their customers a range of over 15 products through their online store.

They state that their range of meat alternatives can make the ideal Christmas gifts for vegans, vegetarians, health-conscious friends or those wanting to try something new. They have an alternative for almost every meat possible.

One of their latest products available, especially for the holidays, is the Holiday Meat Box. This hamper features five of the company’s plant-based offerings and feeds six to eight people for a Christmas feast and lasts for up to a month in the fridge.

The Holiday Meat Box includes the company’s bestselling Stuffed Beast, a mustard-maple glazed Roast Beast, a pack of Very British Bangers, a pack of Bacon and a pack of Pepperoni. All of their vegan meats are hand made in British Colombia from whole-foods such as beans, grains, vegetables and spices.

The Very Good Butchers suggest that the Stuffed and Roast Beasts make excellent alternative centerpieces, the sausages and bacon can create plant-based pigs in blankets and the pepperoni is a good addition to charcuterie boards. They also say that the left overs make great sandwiches.

A customer has said of their experience: “I have only tried the sausages so far but the taste and texture are the best! Way better than any other meatless products on the market. I am very happy with the great ingredients.”
