As the stay at home order in California is extended, buyers keep loading up their carts with cleaning supplies but are struggling to find alcohol and sanitizers. Three months ago, there was only a handful of "Solvent" companies-now because of the demand and need for sanitization supplies, there has been a spike in companies selling alcohol and sanitizer online at insane amounts. Prices of raw goods jumped dramatically and don’t see an end in sight.

Companies that are selling these products are finding themselves in financial issues due to the risk and extra precautions being emplaced like: higher pay for employees, sanitization cost to maintain a specific CDC code, spraying down each packaging, and increased shipping cost.

The pandemic's impacts are so massive that Chairman of the Subcommittee on Government Operations, released the next statement after House Democrats introduced a stimulus package with emergency funds to help save the Postal Service from impending bankruptcy as a result of the coronavirus crisis:

"The Postal Service requires urgent help as a direct result of the coronavirus crisis. Based on several briefings and warnings this week about a critical fall-off in the mail across the country, it has become clear that the Postal Service will not survive the summer without immediate help from Congress and the White House. Every community in America relies on the Postal Service to deliver vital goods and services, including life-saving medications. The Postal Service needs America's help, and we must answer this call."

Many are beginning to question the severity of COVID-19, which leaves people wondering the need for cleaning alcohol and the extra sanitization that they have adopted for the last three months. Companies like Zeus Labs believe that with the new information that people have on bacteria and how sanitation affects the human body will not affect the need and demand. Christian Igram, Owner, and Founder of So Cal Bottling an FDA registered facility, based out of Mission Viejo, has been operating for the last two years and believes that even after the COVID-19, sanitation supplies will continue to be a highly needed item not only across the country but the world.

The global isopropyl alcohol market size is anticipated to grow by 521.75 thousand tons throughout 2020-2024. A report also highlights the market impact and new opportunities created due to the COVID-19 pandemic. As per Technavio, the effect can be expected to be significant in the first quarter but gradually lessen in subsequent quarters – with an insufficient impact on the full-year economic growth published to the latest market research report by Technavio- a private tech company.

In the pharmaceuticals division, isopropyl alcohol is utilized to produce a wide array of products, including alcohol wipes, swabs, hand sanitizers, disinfectants, oral mouthwash, and several other products. Isopropyl alcohol is commonly used as an antiseptic before conducting injections to kill the surface bacteria. The global explosion of a novel coronavirus, COVID-19, is further stimulating the demand for hand sanitizers and other hygiene products, thereby stimulating the growth of the isopropyl alcohol market.
